I’m Angie Marini. I’m 23 years old and I live in the suburbs of Chicago with my family and pet bunny. I live for pasta with too much cheese, celebrity memoirs, white wine, and movies.
I recently graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant management. I naively thought that upon graduation I would land the perfect job in the food and beverage industry . When that didn’t pan out for me, I decided to start a blog doing exactly what I love most, cooking and photography.
Here at The Savory Confection you will find everyday comfort foods in new and creative ways. Since I’m an equal opportunity food obsessive, that could mean a refreshing asparagus salad to start, a hearty beef stew for dinner, and a zesty lemon square for dessert.
What you will not find at The Savory Confection are pretentious and stuffy ingredients. I don’t cook with anything you can’t find at your local grocery store. My cooking style is heavily influenced by my Midwestern upbringing and I always take seasonality into consideration when creating dishes.
A few of my favorite ingredients include rosemary, lemons, eggs, dark chocolate, blue cheese, freshly grated nutmeg, and garlic.
Please feel free to share any thoughts and suggestions you may have in the comments, or shoot me an e-mail. I’m always looking for inspiration. Thank you for visiting my page, it really means the world to me!
If you are interested in working with me, please send me an email. I’m always looking for spectacular opportunities in the food and beverage industry!
